Position SummaryThe Epic Application Analyst is responsible for the implementation of Epic PB applications, upgrades, and modifications. The Epic PB Application Analyst is responsible for advanced workflow configurations, go-live support, and on-going client support. Provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities Include The Following
Understand and adheres to the WPH Performance Standard, Policies and Behaviors.
Analyzes and determines systems requirements and specifications. Performs and documents workflow analysis while evaluating user experience.
Work closely with the Revenue Cycle Operations staff. Lead meetings regarding Epic Builds and Implementations. Collaborate with end-users to gather and interpret user requirements to assist with designing and discussing optimal solutions.
Install Epic PB applications, new components, and upgrade existing modules. Configure application settings and validate configurations.
Provide timely, effective, and professional customer support by troubleshooting and managing complex reported issues as they arise until resolution.
Proactively acknowledge and manage all assigned service request tickets received from end-users.
Participate in the design, build, testing, and maintenance of complex system enhancements and/or work with the appropriate Montefiore IT associate or vendor to coordinate modification.
Resolve critical issues independently as necessary. Forward issues to the correct group for remediation or elevate it to the vendor if required.
Act as a liaison to the end-user for vendor or Montefiore IT.
Contact vendor to report escalations and obtain assistance with complex solving issues.
Perform coordination of vendor activities including, device integration testing, hardware or software installation.
Execute system changes in accordance with IT Change Management Process; including creating test plans and documenting all outcomes of testing; obtaining appropriate approvals.
Provide go-live and/or daily end-users support and training on Epic applications, modules, and functionality.
Write and maintain accurate documentation of workflow for supported Epic PB applications; and disseminate material to users.
Participate in policy and procedure development as it relates to security, downtime, backup operations and disaster recovery activities.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree Required.
5+ years of Epic Professional Billing experience.
Understanding of Professional Billing processes including charging, claim submission, payment posting, Insurance follow-up and self-pay collections.
Well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Provides excellence in customer service under all circ*mstances.
Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment
May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
