Annie Avery and Mr. Lewis Jenkins. He received his early education in Drexel, NC, graduating from Olive Hill High School in Morganton, NC. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army, then chose to continue his education at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology in 1952.

It was at Morris Brown College where he met his life-mate, Doreatha "Cookie" Chisholm. A loving daughter, Caron, was the result of their union. Rudolph was an employee of Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, where his work involved experimental research. He was a devout member of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, where he served in many capacities.

He was a willing and dedicated worker, who believed in letting his deeds speak for him. His caring nature endeared him to many. Rudolph's greatest pleasures in life were listening to jazz, fishing, golfing and patio gardening. He will be missed by his family and friends. Those cherishing his memory are his devoted wife of 57 years, Doreatha; loving and caring daughter, Caron Jenkins; granddaughter, Chaun Walker; grandson, Haskell Reynolds, Jr.

(Shanna); sisters, Lena Hagood (Harry) and Marguerite Brownlee; brother, Willie Jenkins, all of Anderson, SC; brother-in-law, Arnett B. Chisholm; sister-in-law, Rosa B. Nimtz, 47, of Dunwoody, died March 17, 2010. LANIER, Clifford 1918-2010 Clifford Zannie Lanier passed away on, March 16, 2010, in Smyrna. He was 91. He was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, for 67 years, Vivian Kathleen Lanier, known by family and friends as Kitty, Clifford was born in Decatur, where he and Kitty started their family. Later in 1954 they moved to Florida to raise their six children.

Although they traveled throughout his career, he and Kitty chose Jacksonville Beach, Florida as their retirement home. Clifford served in the U. S. Army in World War II at the Battle of the Bulge. His joy of life was flying in his plane among the clouds; swinging his clubs on the golf course, and watching his family grow.

He was known as a caring, loving, and giving person. He never met a stranger. Survivors include his children, son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Katherine "Cookie" Lanier; daughters and sons-in-law, Claudy "Connie" and Donald Green, Tresy and Darryl Knapps, Joyce and Ken Tapp, Dolly Lanier and Keith Joyce, Debbie and Jimmy Thornton; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins far and between. Mr. Joiner was born March 23, 1923 in Wheeler County, Georgia, son of the late William Lewis and Eddie Lou Bradshaw Joiner.

He retired as Vice Chancellor of Communication from the State Board of Regents. Mr. Joiner was a graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the 8th Army Air Corp as a bombardier on a B-17 bomber. Mr.

Joiner was the state adjutant for the American Legion, Served on the governors commission to improve education. He was the business editor for the Atlanta Journal, and was the Public Relations Director of the Georgia Savings Loan League. Survivors include his wife, Sylbra Evelyn Joiner of Atlanta, son, Robert L. Joiner of LaGrange; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kate and Marc Brambrut; great-grandchildren Ben Brambrut and Maya Grace Brambrut all of Decatur. Graveside services will be 11:00 Saturday at the Talley Family cemetery in the Salem Community of Troup county.

LANGLEY "Think not of their passing but of the Glory of their Spirit." Rev. Jim A. Langley passed away peacefully on March 18, 2010 at the age of 82, with his two daughters by his side.

A native Atlantan, Jim graduated from Boys High, Mercer University, and New Orleans Theological Seminary. Jim's life was defined by service to others. He served his country during WWII as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He served congregations through his many ministries including First Baptist Church of Atlanta and First Baptist Church Riverdale. He served numerous veterans and police departments as chaplain, his greatest privilege being to serve as Chaplain for the 1st Infantry Division's 50th Anniversary D-Day Commemorative Ceremony in Normandy, France in 1994.

Jim also served countless individuals and families through counseling. But no one was better served in life by Jim than his two daughters, to whom he served as a devoted, loving, supportive father. "Big Jim," as he was known, lifted up all those he served, and we are thankful for his life. Preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Annie Lou Langley, Jim leaves behind daughter and son in law, Susan and Mike Keeble of Jackson Georgia, grandson Michael John Kessler, daughter and son in law, Julia and Malcolm Butler of Savannah, and many enduring friends. Family visitation will be held at the Sherrell Wilson Mangham Funeral Home in Jackson, Georgia on Saturday, March 20th at 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon.
