:boring:

They have been advertising that non-stop on the networks for over two weeks now.

Chew01-02-08 02:25 PM

Huckabee is scheduled for Leno tonight.

I'll vote in the poll once it's updated to include Colbert.

JasonF01-02-08 02:28 PM

I'm inclined to watch Leno tonight just to see how much of a train wreck it is without writers.

Doughboy01-02-08 02:40 PM

My favorite is Conan. But I don't really watch late night TV much. And I really don't care if they're coming back or not.

Erm, isn't it one with writers?

No. Only Letterman and Ferguson have writers.

I think you missed my point.

He means it's a train wreck with writers also.

dick_grayson01-02-08 03:20 PM

I prefer Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert or Bill Maher to any of the ones listed.

Wow, I'm stupid today.

TheMovieman01-02-08 03:25 PM

I don't feel like staying up til 12:35 for Conan so I'll just DVR his and maybe Kimmel. I'll try and catch the beginning of Leno, maybe he'll do Headlines since that doesn't require any writing...

chris_sc7701-02-08 03:42 PM

My favorite is Conan of course. (I consider Bill Maher's show to be just as good but not really the same thing as a standard talk show).
I hate David letterman. I don't I have ever heard a humorous thing come from his mouth. The only time i watch Letterman is when Bill murray is on that show.
Leno seems like a nice guy but i havn't found his show (with the exception of the weekly HEADLINES segment) since I was around 13 years old.
Craig Ferguson has my respect but I never watch him cause I am always watchin Conan instead. Maybe I'll tune in to him when Conan takes over Leno's timeslot.

BravesMG01-02-08 03:57 PM

I wonder if there will be a significant ratings bump for the new shows. I don't know how much the general population knows or cares about the writers strike, I'm curious to see how the ratings reflect the change at first.

sinned01-02-08 04:06 PM

Anyone know who Conan's guests will be?

bluetoast01-02-08 04:39 PM

What was the agreement that Letterman and Ferguson came up with to get writers?

I believe Travelling Pants is Letterman's production company. Since the WGA has the most issue with internet replays and DVD rights (which neither show really has much of an issue regarding since the interviews get the most replay and those are unscripted), I think they were able to work something out.

I think a lot of people will do that tonight ... me included (I'll DVR it, and actually be watching Letterman).

Toad01-02-08 04:50 PM

Letterman, then Conan.

Cellar Door01-02-08 06:33 PM

I'll definitely be watching Letterman tonight--it'll be interesting to see how his writers handle things. Surely they're going to have a little fun with the situation, but they are not going to want to come across as making too light of it all.

Yeah, Leno sucks when he has writers. His interviews are even worse than the comedy bits, though, so tonight should be a real suckfest.

JasonF01-02-08 06:42 PM

Letterman's production company also does traditional scripted shows -- most notably, Everybody Loves Raymond. I don't think they have anything going currently that's likely to be streamed, but this wasn't a case of Letterman agreeing to a deal that he knows will never cost him a dime.

I do wonder what these shows will look like over the next few weeks. All of the hosts are behind the WGA's demands, as are most of the likely guests (i.e. SAG members). By forcing Leno, O'Brien, and the rest back to work, have the networks created a bully pulpit for the unions ("Tonight, Jay's all new with guests Tim Kring, Joss Wheedon, and Damon Lindelof!")

Deftones01-02-08 06:45 PM

Conan, by a mile. I'm actually interested in seeing Conan do just interviews. I think he's highly underrated in this department.

RayChuang01-02-08 06:51 PM

I'm definitely going to record on my VCR Letterman's show tonight. I hope CBS allows him to be more "edgy and angry"--because he's often really good when he does that. :)

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:35 AM.
